Buying baby bits & other Baby Shows

Prams:
We'd already started looking at prams asking our friends what they recommended too. We found one the My 4, then found the orb then found the oyster. We decided that our best bet was a trip the Oxford pram centre as they had a good selection of them. I would differently recommend going somewhere like this an independent company as they had a good range.  Finally we decided on the mamas and papas Urbo. Oxford had an amazing offer on but decided to walk away and think about it the following weekend when we finally decided yep that was the one the offer was over :-( but decided that we'd just have a look at the baby show instead.

The baby show 23rd Feb 13 Excel London:
So along with hubby and both granny's we went to the baby show. I had a list of items to look at of things my best friend had suggested.

I really enjoyed it, my only comment was there clearly not enough places to sit and rest and very little refreshment choice in the show but the excel had a great selection outside the show. We parked in the Victoria Dock car park and made the sort walk to the excel, mainly because this wasn’t pay and display but if I ever drove there again I would park in the pay and display car park under.

Top buys: well be brought our Urbo pram with car seat adapters and foot muff from Kiddcare www.kiddicare.com/

I ended up finding this gorgeous changing bag from Momymoo:

I also brought bababing lobo bouncer

I was also highly recommended to get checks wipes by my best friend and this means not spending hundreds on baby wipes over the years, you basically use them and wash them:

Couple of baby grows

I also got a free set of tommee tippee feeding bottles when I signed up to 12 months of Prima Baby magazine for £20 http://www.tommeetippee.co.uk/product/bottle-feeding-kit

I brought a simple blue star changing mat as my nursery theme is blue stars based on a cot bumper set I brought from Laura Ashley

I also brought a lock for my pram and nana why brought baby this!

Although I didn't buy one at the show only due to fact they didn't have any designs I looked I also have brought a travel grobag this was again recommended by my best friend. It's basically a sleeping bag for baby's http://www.gro-store.co.uk/grobag-baby-sleep-bag/travel-grobags.html

Hubby and I decided that bar the pram, cot and grobags that we were happy to have everything else 2nd hand if possible. Therefore eBay has become my new favourite shopping place. You can get so many bargains on there and pick up hardly used items very cheaply. I think the main thing on ebay, like everything know your prices! I've also managed to get nice maternity bits from there.

Mothercare Event 27th Feb 2013
Mothercare held mum to be events at various stores across the UK Readings was on the 27th Feb. When we arrived we were given a goodie bag with a 10% off voucher attached. In the bag was various items including lots of breast pads. The main reason for going to the event was to look for a cot bed. We found and brought the Darlington Cotbed in white with the Spring interior Mattress with removable cover. We were lucky and got extra off as
the furniture and mattress had and extra 20% off.

I also brought a few other bits including another sleepbag.

Good deals:
Boden I got sent a voucher for £15 and was able to buy a little outfit

Vertbaudet I had various vouchers but managed to buy a couple of bits and got a free changing bag
